Best Brisbane Dog Parks

We are always on the hunt for great dog parks for our dog walkers and clients alike to enjoy when out dog walking.

Dogs are important four-legged members of many Brisbane households. Brisbane City Council maintains dog off-leash areas in suburban parks all over the city – over 100 in total. Most dog parks include fencing, water, bins, shaded areas and seating. Dog parks are a great place for dogs to run off-leash and socialise with other dogs, and for their owners to meet fellow dog lovers.

Below are 7 Brisbane’s favourite dog parks including New Farm Dog Park for a stunning riverfront location plus more!

Tuckeroo Park

Nudgee Beach Dog Park

Nudgee Beach Dog Park

Location: Nudgee Road, Nudgee Beach
Tuckeroo Park includes a large, fenced dog off-leash area with water access for your dog to swim and a ‘Doggy World’ obstacle course. It is an ‘adventure’ park for dogs. You can also take your dog onto the tidal section of Nudgee Beach, as long as your dog is on a lead. This dog park is a favourite for many Brisbane residents. Nudgee Fishing Platform is located beside ‘Doggy World’.
Note: large sand flats (at low tide) in front of the Nudgee Beach Reserve (via Fortitude Street) are not a Council dog off-leash area.

Downfall Creek Reserve

Location: Brickyard Road, VIRGINIA
• One of Brisbane’s largest off-leash areas for dogs.
• 4 hectares – unfenced.
• Enter from Brickyard Road in Virginia or Jefferis Street in Wavell Heights.

Powerhouse Park

Powerhouse Park, New Farm

Powerhouse Park, New Farm

Location: Lamington St, New Farm
Powerhouse Park is located adjacent to the Brisbane River and the historic Brisbane Powerhouse. The dog off-leash area is shady and always busy. There is a large grassed area next to the dog park which is suitable for picnics, as well as a bike path running along the river. This park is popular with apartment dwellers with small dogs.

Colmslie Rec Reserve

Spot at Colmslie Reserve Dog Park

Monoplane Street Park

Monoplane Street Park, Ashgrove

Monoplane Street Park, Ashgrove

Location: Barnett Road, Ashgrove
• Very large fenced enclosure. Even big dogs can have a good run off the leash.
• Some shade trees.
• Very popular on Sunday afternoons and the small car park fills up quickly – so arrive early!

Kokoda Park

Location: Tindal St, Gordon Park
This dog off-leash area is located on the Kedron Brook floodway, begins near where Montrose Street crosses the creek, goes under Thistle Street and continues almost as far as Lutwyche Road. The dog off-leash area is long enough for a decent run for dogs, and dogs can also jump in the creek as a different experience from being in an enclosure.

Elanora Park

Elanora Park, Wynnum

Elanora Park, Wynnum

Location: Elanora Park, Granada Street, Wynnum
Elanora Park is a dog friendly park, with a large off-leash area, including agility equipment. It is located right next to a mangrove boardwalk. It offers another different type of experience for your dog, by the mangroves, with a cool sea breeze always blowing.
