Partying Law Dogs Style

Posted on 30 June 2014

Have you ever wonder what it would feel like to have a German Shepherd latched to your forearm? I suspect it might be a bit heavy and you may feel a little pressure around the area where the jaw fixes to the protective sleeve, not really the most comfortable of experiences but certainly an impressive tale to share. This year at Lawdogs Australia’s third birthday celebration a few lucky, (if that’s how they’d like to be termed), party guests will have this very opportunity, donning the protective sleeve for Stud Dog Bodie to attack.

But training law dogs is not all about big dogs with equally as impressive teeth; there are several other party tricks that will be showcased throughout the day’s celebration. Younger visitors can try to stump the detection dogs by hiding target items, while the whole family can enjoy indoor and outdoor dog demonstrations, before picking up some hints from an obedience training seminar.

For those that prefer a smaller dog there will also be the opportunity to cuddle the puppies and observe their everyday antics through a live camera feed. While, for the visitors that enjoy variety, there are even some farm animals in the paddock ready to meet and greet.

The non-negotiables of any party have not been forgotten either, with food aplenty provided through a free sausage sizzle and birthday cake for all. This year the party will be held on Saturday the 5th July, however, one-hour shows are scheduled every Saturday and Wednesday throughout the year. Whether you attend the birthday celebrations or a regular show some other time throughout the year, the cost of tickets is $15 for all adults (including seniors) and high school students, $5 for primary aged children, with toddlers free.

Lawdogs Australia is located at 335 Church Road, The Summit, near Stanthorpe. Please refer to the Lawdogs Australia website, http://www.lawdogsaustralia.com.au/Information.htm, for accurate directions not Google Maps or your GPS. The venue is wheelchair accessible, with caravan parking available and all the standard refreshment facilities provided.

Certainly, partying or even taking in a standard Saturday or Wednesday show with the Lawdogs is a unique and exhilarating experience that is sure to etch itself deep into your memory. One just has to hope that the protective sleeve ensures that nothing else leaves an indelible impression on your body.
